Project 206 1 is a science education project in the United States. Formulated by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in the 1980s. Objective: To adapt American children to the development of science and technology and social life when the comet approaches the earth again in 20061year.

The association was established with the support of Carnegie Corporation and Mellon Foundation. The National Science and Technology Education Committee, composed of hundreds of experts and some educators in the fields of science, mathematics and technology, and five subject expert groups studied the development and change trend in the fields of science, mathematics and technology after the war, and put forward a three-step plan for the reform of science, mathematics and technology education in the United States from the mid-1980s to the early 20th century.

That year coincided with Comet Halley's approach to the Earth, and the reform plan was designed to enable the children in the United States today, the masters of the next century, to adapt to the drastic changes in science and technology and social life during the comet's approach to the Earth again in 20061year, so it was named "206 1 project".

Comprehensive. The implementation object of "206 1 Plan" is comprehensive, trying to popularize science and technology in all students and disciplines from kindergarten to high school in the experimental area. The scope of implementation is comprehensive, and at the same time, the content of teaching materials, teaching technology, examination methods and school organization are reformed; Participants are also very comprehensive.
