Xiamen University, or XMU for short, is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a world-class university construction university (Class A), a national key construction university of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and the first batch of independent examination units with degree authorization.
