Hunan Library is a provincial comprehensive public library organized by the state. Its predecessor was Hunan Provincial Library and Education Museum, which was founded in Guding Wangtai in March of 1904 with donations from Liang Huankui and others. It is the first provincial public library named after "Library" in China. From191913 spring, Mao Zedong taught himself here for half a year, from 65438 to 0927, and He Shuheng served as the curator. Hunan Library is the key protection unit of ancient books in China, and its collections are mostly rare books, genealogies, books, calligraphy and painting, notes and so on. , especially the rich local literature. The library has service windows such as comprehensive lending room, literature and art book lending room, Chinese newspaper lending room, foreign language lending room, Chinese reference book lending room, local literature reading room, ancient books reading room and electronic reading room. It has also established a unique Hunan People's Information Center, Mao Zedong's Works Editing Room, Xu Teli's Library Reading Room, Genealogy Collection Center, Shiga Library, Audio-visual Lending Room, Blind Library, Hunan Library Children's Branch, Senior Library and Women's Library. The library implements open-shelf lending, and now has more than 1570 reading seats. Providing services to readers in various forms and ways, such as book borrowing, reading, reference consultation, literature retrieval, special services, series of lectures, social education, etc., has become an ideal place for readers to obtain knowledge and information and relax reading.
