Putian University Library is divided into Central District Library, North District Library and Xianyou Campus Library, with an area of 23 1.75 square meters. The central pavilion (52 1 1 m2) was built in 1989 and 1998 respectively by Mr. Xu Guoxiong, a Hong Kong industrialist from Putian.

In 2008, the donation was made in two phases, named "Xulouguang Library" and "Xiong Xin Library" respectively. The North District Library covers an area of 6,328 square meters and was put into use in June 2003. Xianyou campus library 1 1636 square meters, used on 201April 6. The new campus library covers an area of 36,000 square meters and will be put into use in 2020.

The library has set up local literature stacks, readers' research and discussion rooms, readers' salon centers, electronic reading rooms and other places, opened mobile libraries and WeChat libraries, and introduced electronic lending machines, self-service printing systems and cool guest cloud CD players, so that readers are not limited by time and space and make full use of library resources. Huiwen book management system is adopted in the whole library, and RFID book intelligent management system is established in Xianyou campus, which realizes the integrated management mode of collection, lending, reading, inquiry, inquiry and learning.
