Some basic principles and formulas of mathematics still need to be memorized, and more formulas are derived from the basic principles and formulas, so you don't have to memorize them if you feel troublesome.

But personally, I think it's too bad and uneconomical to memorize the formula on the spot if you take the exam.

But many physical formulas are empirical, and it is really difficult to calculate symbols, parameters and correction values without memorizing them.
