Professor Li has worked in the front line of teaching for a long time. Since 199 1, seven courses have been offered for undergraduates and postgraduates, which have achieved good teaching results and won many teaching excellence awards. Since 2000, he has taught four professional basic courses and specialized courses, such as "Fundamentals of Space Geodesy" and "Principles and Applications of Global Positioning System", totaling 1538 class hours (from 2000 to the first half of 2005), with an average of 280 class hours per year. He is rigorous in his studies, has a correct style of study, teaches and educates people, and has passed the year-end examination for five consecutive years. In 2002, he was awarded the title of "model teacher's morality" by Wuhan University, and in 2003, he was awarded the title of "famous teacher in teaching" by Wuhan University. Professor Li actively participated in the teaching reform, among which the project "Tracking the frontier of discipline development, reforming and building the research and practice of geodesy specialty" won the first prize of Hubei Excellent Teaching Achievement Award and the first prize of National Teaching Achievement Award. Principle and Application of Global Positioning System won the second prize of provincial excellent teaching materials and the third prize of provincial scientific and technological progress. At the same time, he presided over two teaching reform projects: the establishment and orientation of satellite application specialty in Wuhan University and the establishment of quality evaluation system for graduate dissertations. Professor Li also took an active part in scientific research. Since 1990, he has participated in more than 20 scientific research projects. Among them, the "GPS automatic monitoring system for the appearance deformation of Geheyan dam" played a very good role in 1998 flood control and flood fighting. The project won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in Hubei Province. Projects such as "Research on Distributed Wide-area Differential GPS System Scheme" and "National High-precision GPS Network Layout Scheme, Surveying Technology and Data Processing" won the first prize of National Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Progress Award.
