Training objectives: This major trains students to have systematic knowledge of statistical theory and application, master the main methods of statistics, have the ability to deal with data problems in specific industries, and be able to engage in data collection, analysis and decision-making innovation in related fields such as economy, management, biology, medicine, finance, insurance, industry, agriculture, forestry, commerce, information technology, education, health, medicine, meteorology, water conservancy, environment and disaster reduction.

Training requirements: Students in this major mainly study and master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of statistics.

Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Have good political, ideological, cultural, moral, physical and psychological qualities;

2. Master the basic knowledge, basic theory and systematic statistical thought of statistics;

3. Master the scientific methods of data collection, and be able to choose appropriate statistical methods for analysis, inference and prediction according to the characteristics of data;

4. Master the modern information technology of information query and document retrieval in Chinese and foreign languages, and initially have the ability to obtain solutions to problems of concern and judge these solutions;

5.
