1, fishing quatrains (Qing Ji Xiaolan)

One pole, one paddle, one fishing boat, one fisherman, one hook, one leaning on one smile, and one person dominating one river and autumn.

Commentary: According to legend, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty played a joke on Ji Xiaolan in an autumn day, and it was difficult for him to write a quatrain inlaid with ten "ones" on the topic of a fisherman in the distance. After a little meditation, Ji Xiaolan blurted out a poem describing autumn fishing, "Fishing quatrains": "A fishing rod with an oar and a fisherman with a hook. When you clap your hands, you shout and laugh, and one person monopolizes a river. " Emperor Qianlong couldn't help marveling and personally rewarded Ji Xiaolan with fine wine.

2. Mountain Village (Shao Yong in Northern Song Dynasty)

Two or three miles at a time, four or five smoke villages, six or seven pavilions, and eighty or ninety flowers.

Interpretation: At first glance, two or three miles away, mist enveloped four or five families. There are six or seven pavilions beside the village, and many flowers are in full bloom.

3. Xue Mei's Poetry (Lin Mingjing and Jing)

One, two, three or four, five, six, seven or eight. Nine dollars, ten dollars, countless dollars, all missing when flying into Mei.

Commentary: This is a poem about Xue Mei written by Lin Hejing in Ming Dynasty. The whole poem uses quantifiers to indicate the number of snowflakes. After reading it, it's like being in the snow. Snowflakes from less to more, flying into Meilin can't tell whether they are snowflakes or plum blossoms.

4. The monk came back late (He Yu Pei)

A flower, a willow, a pebble, a sunset, a bird. One mountain, one water, one middle temple, one forest, one yellow leaf and one monk return.

Interpretation: He, a poetess in Qing Dynasty, was good at writing digital poetry, and even drew a vivid picture of becoming a monk and returning home late with ten "ones".

5. Farewell to the viceroy and go to Shu (Wang Bo)

Across the wall of Sanqin, across a layer of fog, across a river. The war lasted for more than half a year, and letters from home were rare, with a hundred thousand gold.

Interpretation: Wei Chang 'an, the land of Sanqin; Far away in Sichuan, but far away. You and I have similar fates, running around in official career, far from home. As long as you have intimate friends, you don't feel far away within the four seas. Even at the ends of the earth, I feel like a close neighbor. Breaking up at a fork in the road really doesn't need to be immersed in love and shed tears.
