The answers to the exercises on pages 24, 25 and 26 of the junior one math book.
Try to find out how many kilometers are the ordinary highway and the expressway from A to B?

Solution: Let the ordinary highway be X(km) and the expressway be Y(km), then:

X =(X+Y)/3; - ( 1)

X/60+Y/ 100=2.2 - (2)

Sorting out the equation (1), we get: y = 2x.

If the denominator is removed, Equation (2) gives 5X+3Y=660.

Substituting y=2x into 5x+3y=660 gives x = 60Y=2x= 120.

Answer: The highway from A to B is 60km, and the expressway 120km.
