Xiangtan University, referred to as "Xiangda", is located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. It is a comprehensive national key university founded by comrades and a national "double-class" construction university. It is a university jointly established by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, a national applied mathematics center and the first batch of national intellectual property information service centers in universities.
State-level new engineering research and practice projects, collaborative innovation centers jointly built by provincial offices, the first batch of national patent collaborative application pilot units, the education and training plan for outstanding legal talents, the national red tourism innovation and development research base, and the first batch of national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform are members of the "Belt and Road" university alliance, the global education roaming alliance and the national red culture strategic alliance.
The school was founded on 1958. In September of the same year 10, comrades personally wrote the name of Xiangtan University. 1959 closed for some reason. 1974, Xiangtan University was approved to resume its studies and was positioned as a comprehensive university of arts, science and engineering.
