Rules of American High School Mathematical Modeling Competition
The competition team consists of four high school students at most, and is equipped with a tutor. Within the specified 17 days (usually starting from Friday in the first week of June, 1 1), complete the competition for 36 consecutive hours selected by the team. The title of the competition is two practical problems from the real world, and each team chooses one. You can use books, computers, software, internet and other resources during the competition, but you can't discuss with anyone outside the team (including your team's instructor) in any way. After the competition, submit the answer sheet to COMPA, which will organize experts to review it. Finally, the National Excellence Award, the Grand Prize Nomination Award (national finalist or finalist), the Meritorious Award, the Excellence Award and the Successful Participation Award were awarded. In order to encourage students' enthusiasm, each team that handed in their papers can win at least one successful entry prize, and the teams that won the second prize or above generally account for about 60% of the total team, and the teams that won the special prize do not exceed 1% of the total team every year. China players, including Shanghai Middle School and Shenzhen Middle School, won the highest prize, the special prize.
