Circumcision in Liu Hui and Extreme Teaching _ Circumcision in Liu Hui
Liu Hui, a mathematician in Wei and Jin Dynasties in China, was born in Xiangzi (now Linzi or Zichuan, Shandong Province). Life experience, resume and date of birth and death are not recorded in Historical Records. He annotated the ancient classic "Nine Chapters Arithmetic" and created "Today's Technique" (an algorithm for finding the fourth number from three known numbers, that is, finding X from a:6=c:x), "Secant Technique", "Calculation Method of Sphere Volume" and "Double Difference Technique" (measurement method). His unique achievements in arithmetic, algebra, geometry and trigonometry established his position in the history of Chinese mathematics. He is regarded as the representative of China's outstanding mathematicians in ancient times and has a glorious position in the history of mathematics in the world. The "Circumcision" he founded is briefly introduced in some high school mathematics textbooks (such as PEP) under the new curriculum reform. Therefore, how to make good use of the historical data of "circumcision" in extreme teaching in senior high school is a problem worth discussing.
