Brief introduction of Wenzhou Mathematics Hall of Fame
In the past hundred years, Wenzhou mathematicians have come forth in large numbers. According to incomplete statistics, there are at least 200 Wenzhou mathematicians at home and abroad, among whom more than 30 have served as the head of the department of mathematics or the director of the institute of mathematics in famous universities. Among them, Jiang Lifu, the founder of modern mathematics in China, and Su, one of the founders of modern mathematics in China, are outstanding representatives, and Gu Chaohao is one of them. The basic education stage of these mathematical talents was completed in Wenzhou, which is also known as the "cradle of mathematicians".

"In order to inherit the achievements of the older generation of enthusiastic mathematicians and the rigorous, practical and diligent research spirit, Wenzhou Mathematics Hall of Fame was located in Gu Chaohao's ancestral home." The person in charge of the Municipal Cultural Protection Institute said that the deeds, research results and related items of Wenzhou mathematicians since the late Qing Dynasty were exhibited in the museum.

Gu Chaohao's ancestral home is located at Gaoyingli 1 1 in Lucheng District, where Gu Chaohao once lived as a teenager. In 2006, he moved to the Nantang River on the east side of Bailuzhou Park on Fei Xia South Road. Built in the middle of Qing Dynasty, it sits west to east and has seven quadrangles. It is 28 meters wide and 30 meters deep, covering an area of 778 square meters and a building area of 646 square meters. The plane layout is neat and even, and the house is divided into eight patios of different sizes with flower walls, in which wells, flower beds and plants are arranged, and the courtyard is deep and quiet. With excellent materials and simple and meticulous decoration, the ancient house is a typical traditional residence in Wenzhou. In 2000, it was announced as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
