Scientific research achievements:

Main contributions to science and technology:

1. Put forward the theory of intelligent control of four-element cross structure (1996).

The information theory is introduced into the discipline structure of intelligent control, and the "four-element cross structure theory of intelligent control" is put forward, which develops the intelligent control theory, reveals the internal relationship between intelligent control and related disciplines, enriches the content of advanced automation and promotes the development of international intelligent control theory. The theoretical results have been included in the entry of "Intelligent Control" in the volume of "Automatic Control and System Engineering" of Encyclopedia of China.

2. Launched the "Robot Planning Expert System" (1985).

Based on the principle of artificial intelligence and expert system technology, the new mechanism and method of robot planning are studied. 1985 put forward and established an expert system for robot planning for the first time in the world, which realized the combination of expert system and robot technology, and successively completed robot task planning, robot obstacle avoidance motion path planning, robot flexible assembly planning, robot parts transportation planning and multi-robot (multi-agent) coordinated motion planning. It opens up a new way for automatic planning and high-level control of knowledge-based production process in the world, improves the planning performance, and is of great significance to improve the level of automation and intelligence of production.

3. Put forward the idea and architecture of evolutionary control (1999), and establish the prototype of evolutionary control system. Applying evolutionary thought to robot control and path planning lays a foundation for evolutionary control, opens up a new branch for intelligent control and promotes the development of intelligent control.

4. Put forward the idea of immune control and the general structure of immune control system (2003).

5. Put forward the preliminary framework and subject characteristics of the subject system of intelligent science (200 1).

The preliminary framework of intelligent science discipline system was formally put forward at the "China High-level Seminar on Development Strategy in Automation Field", which played an important role in promoting the birth of a new interdisciplinary subject.

6. A mathematical model (1978) of control instruction for thyristor DC reversible automatic speed regulation system is proposed, which has universal significance and is used for the logic design of thyristor logic reversible speed regulation system without circulating current. Through the implementation of several systems, its correctness and effectiveness are proved.

7. Compile and publish the first textbook/monograph on three disciplines in the field of intelligent science in China, namely, Artificial Intelligence and Its Application (1987, Tsinghua University Press), Intelligent Control (1990, Electronic Industry Press) and Robot Principle and Its Application (1988, Central South Industry). These works have been published in several editions, with about 300,000 copies, which have been used by hundreds of colleges and universities in China. In addition, "Intelligent Control: Principle, Technology and Application" was published abroad and used as a teaching material and teaching reference.

8. More than 660 papers were published in academic journals and conferences at home and abroad, and more than 100 papers were included in SCI, EI and ISTP.

Awards:

Engaged in more than 30 scientific education research projects, won 2 international prizes, national prize 1, provincial and ministerial first prize 1, second prize 1, 2 third prizes, 5 provincial excellent papers first prizes, 2 second prizes 1 and 4 other prizes. Some of his research is in a leading position at home and abroad, and he has become one of the academic leaders in related disciplines. Won the first national teacher teaching award.
