The Mathematical Modeling Competition is open to all college students, regardless of major or school, and students from any other school can participate. College students participate in the competition as a team, with 3 people in each team (they must belong to the same school), and their majors are not limited.
Introduction to mathematical modeling:
It is to establish a mathematical model according to the actual problem, solve the mathematical model, and then solve the actual problem according to the result.
When it is necessary to analyze and study a practical problem from a quantitative point of view, people should use mathematical symbols and language to establish a mathematical model on the basis of in-depth investigation, understanding of object information, making simplified assumptions and analyzing internal laws.
The National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students was founded in 1992 and held once a year. At present, it has become the largest basic subject competition in domestic universities and the largest mathematical modeling competition in the world.
Each team may have an instructor (or teacher group) who is engaged in pre-competition counseling and organizing competitions. However, during the competition, participants must avoid giving guidance or participating in discussions. During the competition, the contestants can use all kinds of books, materials, computers and software to browse online, but they are not allowed to discuss with anyone outside the team (including online).
