Yang Mi was born in Xuanwu District of Beijing (merged into Xinxicheng District of Beijing). His father Yang Xiaolin is a policeman and his mother Yang Chunling is a full-time housewife. Because all three people in the family are surnamed Yang, which is the cubic of "Yang" (the result of power in mathematics is called power), she was named Yang Mi.

Childhood film and television experience
Yang Mi was born in an ordinary family in Xuanwu District (now merged into Xicheng District). His father Yang Xiaolin is a criminal policeman. Because all three people in the family are surnamed Yang, they named him "Power" (mathematically, it means the result of power operation, that is, the square of a number). His uncle is Yang Xiaojing, a professor of mathematics in Tsinghua University.
