Absolute values add up. Such as: -2+(-5)=-(2+5)=-7
Different symbols are added (that is, one is positive and the other is negative). Take the symbol of the number with the largest absolute value and subtract the absolute value.
Such as: 2+(-7)=-(7-2)=-5
Any number plus 0 still equals that number. Such as: -4+0=-4
Law of subtraction: subtracting a number is equal to adding the reciprocal of this number. Such as: 4-(-2)=4+2=6
Multiplication rule: negative numbers have even numbers, take positive numbers and multiply absolute values. For example: -2 *(5)=+(2 * 5)= 10 If the negative number is odd, take the negative sign and multiply the absolute value. Such as: 2 *(5)=-(2 * 5)=- 10.
Any number multiplied by 0 is still 0.
Law of division: dividing by a number is equal to multiplying the reciprocal of this number. For example: 2 divided by 5=2*( 1/5)=2/5.
Inverse number: Two numbers with different signs are inverse numbers. Such as: 4 and -4
Absolute value: just remove the symbol. Such as: -4 absolute value writing: |-4|=4
