Tell the truth about Chinese and western education

The key of western innovative education lies in China's sentence: It is better to teach people to fish than to teach them to fish. Western education attaches great importance to teaching students to learn by themselves.

1. What is a project?

A project is a project. The western education evaluation is 70% of the usual grades (so quizzes, compositions, unit exams, etc. ), the final project is 20% of the best and biggest task, and the final exam is 25%, but failing the exam is equivalent to failure. Sometimes there is no such final project, depending on the class.

This project is nothing more than speeches, papers, papers, slides, posters and so on. This is the essence of the so-called innovative education, because doing these projects is really learning and flexible use. If you meet a teacher Niu and share N speeches in a unit, you can let the students talk about their learning, and you will have nothing to do. Actually, we can learn this.

There are many extracurricular activities.

Western schools really teach students in accordance with their aptitude. After class, encourage them to participate in various extracurricular activities. They can also organize their own leadership training. There are Go, chess, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, philosophy, social welfare organizations, religious types, and so on, and there are countless things to see.

3. There is an open-air sports ground.

Encourage participation in sports activities, such as football and basketball.

4. Teach students in accordance with their aptitude, each with his own stick.

In the west, students choose their own courses, including compulsory courses and elective courses.

For example, art class focuses on practice, history class focuses on writing, and French class focuses on conversation, teaching students to practice conversation.

Smart students have gifted classes, poor students have special classes for poor students, and they don't fall behind.

Telling the truth, the second part of Chinese and western education

Some words have been said a lot, but they are too important to be repeated here.

1. Let the children return to innocence

Primary education in Canada is interest-oriented. Many contents include painting, sports, music and so on. My study of these interesting arts should be an important part of primary education, not a form, and it will become an extra-curricular burden. In fact, those things learned in primary school can completely catch up with their studies, and premature study will put too much pressure on children. In fact, from the perspective of parallel education in Canada and China, on average, it takes almost one or two years in Canada. That is to say, when our students in China are learning the content of Grade 4, Canadian children of the same age are still learning the content of Grade 2. There are certain reasons for the rapid economic development in China. However, it is well known that our high-pressure education stifles children's talent. In fact, these gaps will be even when they arrive at the university in the next year or two.

2. Mathematics education in China is really good.

Mathematics is a discipline of comparative theory, and talents can be trained according to the model, so our mathematics in China is very powerful. Canada's mathematics education is at sixes and sevens, basically relying on self-study, so domestic mathematics books are not as strong as those abroad. In addition, Olympiad Education is really helpful for training science talents, but only for those who are interested, because it is difficult mathematics after all.

We ignore the flexibility of education.

Our educational model is that science is easy to train talents, while liberal arts flexible talents are often stifled, and education is mechanical. Foreign education is extremely flexible, attaching importance to painting, sports and music, and advocating at least one musical instrument. So you see, westerners' innovative ability is very strong, which is how they are cultivated. Didn't the Renaissance pay attention to these contents? Therefore, this is a western tradition. In China, these subjects are excluded from the main courses and are simply ignored. Only top schools can really teach these courses.

Education in China is too unbalanced.

Although elite education is necessary and focusing on breakthroughs is our specialty, our education lacks the minimum standard of average measurement.

Education in China is improving, but the differences between schools, cities and provinces are too great. Some places are well done, while others are in a mess. In Canada, no matter in remote areas or rich areas, the basic content and form of each school are the same, but the additional content has its own characteristics. In China, it has its own characteristics, but it doesn't have the same basic content and form.

University education should combine leniency with severity.

Education in the west is very loose and strict. A high school student who is above average can be admitted to a relatively first-class university. However, the elimination rate in the first year of college is higher than 60%, and then it will be fine. However, education in western universities is really difficult. Unlike China, when I was a child, I was very bitter, but when I really went to college, I was extremely relaxed. This makes me a little twisted.
