The American College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition (MCM/ICM), sponsored by the American Federation of Mathematics and Its Applications, is the only international mathematical modeling competition and the most influential mathematical modeling competition in the world.
The content of the competition involves many fields such as economy, management, environment, resources, ecology, medicine and safety. The competition requires 3 people (both undergraduate and graduate students can participate) to complete all the work from modeling, solving and verifying the specified problem to writing the paper within 4 days, which reflects the ability of the contestants to study problems and solutions and the spirit of teamwork. ?
He is the originator of all kinds of mathematical modeling competitions today.
playtime
The annual competition time of American college students' mathematical modeling competition is generally set at the beginning of February, and it is necessary to register through official website and have a fixed instructor. General colleges and universities will organize interested students to carry out pre-competition training, registration and payment.
The competition is based on US Eastern Time, which is about 13 hours later than Beijing time, that is, 9: 00 am on February 6th, Beijing time and 8: 00 pm on February 5th, US Eastern Time.
In fact, the time should be fixed every year, but because there are college students from all over the world participating in the competition, the time will be changed occasionally because of something. For example, in 20 13, the mathematical modeling competition for American college students was originally scheduled for one day and three nights from Lunar New Year's Day to May 1st in China. After consultation with China, it was changed to around the Lunar New Year in China.
