I. Professional history

The forensic medicine major of China Criminal Police College was founded in the period of central police cadres of the Ministry of Public Security in the early days of the People's Republic of China. Since 1950s, it has become the only teaching unit in the national public security system to train forensic professionals. 198 1 after the establishment of the hospital, the forensic medicine specialty was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

1989 was approved by the Ministry of Education as the second awarding point of bachelor's degree in forensic medicine, and 1998 was granted the right to award master's degree and began to train master's degree students in forensic medicine. At present, the major of forensic medicine undertakes the teaching task of vocational training for undergraduates, second degree students, master students and forensic police officers, and has trained more than 800 professionals for undergraduates, second degree students and master students of forensic medicine for the country and more than 6,000 forensic police officers for the public security departments in China.

Second, the professional characteristics

At present, there are two teaching and research sections of forensic evidence and forensic pathology in forensic medicine specialty of our hospital, one of which is the laboratory.

Forensic medicine specialty has established the working idea of serving the construction of public security technical team and public security forensic work, insisting on the combination of teaching, scientific research and case handling, striving for survival by quality and development by characteristics. After more than 60 years of running a school, we have established a practical and applied talent training mode with forensic knowledge, practical forensic technology, new forensic technology and new knowledge progress education as the main contents, and made great efforts to create four aspects: DNA testing, forensic anthropology testing, forensic field investigation and analysis, and estimation of injury time and death time.

Third, the teaching staff and training conditions.

The Department of Forensic Medicine currently has faculty members 17, including 5 professors, 7 associate professors, 3 lecturers 1 person, 3 senior experimenters and 3 associate researchers 1 person. At the academic level, there are 1 people with postdoctoral work experience, 4 people with doctoral degrees and 9 people with master's degrees.

In addition, 12 visiting professors were hired. These teachers have professional knowledge backgrounds such as medicine, pharmacy and foreign languages, and have formed a reasonable academic structure, which provides first-class intellectual support for the teaching and scientific research activities of forensic medicine. Forensic medicine has four laboratories, including DNA laboratory, crime appearance and forensic anthropology laboratory, forensic clinical laboratory and forensic pathology laboratory, and has established several professional practice bases in Shenyang, Jilin and Dongguan.

Entrusted by the Ministry of Public Security, the forensic medicine major regularly holds the "National Public Security Forensic Medicine Forum" and publishes academic papers at the conference. Over the years, he has presided over more than 30 national and provincial scientific research projects and published more than 500 professional papers. Textbooks such as Forensic Material Evidence, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Anthropology, and Investigation and Analysis of Murder Scene won the first prize of excellent textbooks of the Ministry of Public Security. Forensic Medicine was rated as an excellent course in Liaoning Province.

In 2008, forensic medicine was rated as the key supporting discipline in Liaoning Province, and became the most important training base for forensic medicine professionals and the research base for forensic medicine theory and practice in China's public security system.

Fourth, training objectives and professional courses

Forensic medicine majors cultivate applied senior professionals who are politically firm, have good professional, scientific and humanistic qualities, systematically master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of their major, have the professional core ability and innovative spirit to carry out forensic work, and can meet the needs of forensic work in public security and judicial organs.

Forensic medicine majors mainly offer professional courses such as forensic pathology, clinical forensic medicine, murder scene investigation and analysis, Forensic Toxicology, professional foreign languages, pathological sectioning technology, forensic science, forensic anthropology, criminal appearance, medical accident identification, forensic psychiatry, etc.
