Discipline construction: Atmospheric science was selected as the national "world-class discipline" construction discipline, and was rated as the first and A+ level in the last two first-level discipline evaluations of the Ministry of Education. Meteorology is a national key discipline, and six disciplines, including earth science, engineering, computer science, environmental science and ecology, chemistry and agricultural science, rank among the top in the world of ESI disciplines 1%.
Faculty: The school has a high-level faculty, with more than 2,000 full-time teachers, and the doctor rate of teachers is over 85%, of which more than 67% have studied abroad for more than one year.

Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology introduced:
Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology is a national "double-first-class" university, and also a key supporting university for the construction of high-level universities in Jiangsu Province. To serve the needs of new China's national strategy and national economic construction, the School of Meteorology of Nanjing University (the predecessor of the school) was established in 1960, and it belongs to the Meteorological Bureau of the Central Military Commission. Formerly known as the School of Meteorology of Nanjing University, 1963 was independently established as Nanjing Meteorological College.
1978 is listed as a national key university. In 2000, he became the leader of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and in 2004, he was renamed Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. Since 2007, the school has been approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Meteorological Bureau, Ministry of Education and State Oceanic Administration. Now it is a central and local university mainly managed by Jiangsu Province.
