Pig's habit
(1) Pigs with high reproductive rate and short generation interval generally reach sexual maturity at the age of 4-6 months, and can be bred for the first time at the age of 6-8 months. Pigs are perennial estrous animals, with multiple births and high yield, and short gestation period, only 1 14 days.

(2) Pigs are omnivores, with wide feeding habits and high feed conversion efficiency, and can make full use of various animal, plant and mineral feeds. Eating is selective, can distinguish tastes, and especially likes sweets.

(3) Pigs with short growth period and fast turnover are stunted at birth because of their short embryonic period and many identical piglets, accounting for only 1% of the weight of adult pigs, and their growth and development speed is very fast after birth.

(4) Sensitive sense of smell and hearing. Pigs with poor eyesight have a special nose and a very sensitive sense of smell. Piglets can recognize the smell within a few hours after birth, find the nipple by smell, and fix the nipple within 3 days; Pigs have big ears and flexible head and neck rotation, which is easy to establish conditioned reflex to sound stimulation. Pigs' vision is very weak, lacking accurate discrimination, and their sight range and field of vision are very small.

(5) Strong adaptability and wide distribution Pigs have strong adaptability to natural geography, climate and other conditions, and are one of the most widely distributed and numerous domestic animals in the world.

(6) It is sensitive to the change of external temperature and humidity. Big pigs are afraid of heat, while little pigs are afraid of cold. Because of the underdeveloped sweat glands and thick subcutaneous fat, pigs have obvious reaction to high temperature and high humidity, which should be paid attention to in production.
