Shiquan River has seven main tributaries, of which Garzangbu is the largest, about 155 km long. Shiquan River Basin is located in semi-desert and desert zone, with dry climate and little rain. Mainly animal husbandry. Shiquanhe town, located at the intersection of Shiquan River and Garzangbu, is the residence of the administrative office of Ali region.
Introduction to Shiquan River:
The Chinese transliteration of this river (Senge Zangbo) in Tibetan areas is Senge Zangbo, which means Shiquan River or Shikou River. It is the source of the Indus River and one of the major rivers in western Xizang Autonomous Region.
Glacial Lake, which originated in the northern part of Qi Feng, Gangrenbo, the main peak of Gangdise Mountain, flows from south to north and turns west near Bamba, passes through Geji Town, reaches Shiquanhe Basin, joins Garzangbu near Zhaxigang Township, and turns northwest to flow into Ladakh area.
Shiquan River: The Chinese transliteration of this river (Senge Zangbo) in Tibetan areas is Sangge Zangbo, which means Shikou River or Shiquan River. China is 405 kilometers long with a drainage area of 27,450 square kilometers.
From the source to Geji Town, the upstream section is about152km, with a drop of 646m. It flows through Sange Kabbah, and the right bank is replenished by a spring river that flows all year round. Because the mountain where the spring water is located looks like a lion, it is named Shiquan River.
Geji Town to Zhaxigang Township is located in the middle reaches, about 173 km long. The middle reaches are wide river valleys and Shiquan River basins.
Below Zhaxi Port is the downstream section, about 87 kilometers long, and there is a rapids beach about 10 kilometers long in the downstream section.
