Brief introduction of Xiamen Guankou Middle School
Jimei Branch of Xiamen No.1 Middle School (jimei district Guankou Middle School, Xiamen) was founded in August of 1956, and is located in Xinting Mountain, the west of the hometown of Jimei Overseas Chinese (Anren Avenue, Guankou Town, Xiamen City, Fujian Province 1207). It was built by 2 1 township sages, including Chen Shuicheng, Chen Zhanmei and Zeng Shen, returned overseas Chinese from Myanmar. The school now covers an area of 55 190 square meters, with a building area of 22,858 square meters. It has three teaching buildings, two teachers' dormitories, a teaching office building, a laboratory and library building, an apartment-style student dormitory and a canteen building. A large sports ground with a 400-meter plastic track, four basketball courts, an indoor gymnasium and a staff activity room will also be built. There are 37 classes in the school, with more than 2,000 students and 0/40 faculty members, including 25 senior teachers and 63 first-class teachers. There are 2 municipal academic leaders and 2 municipal backbone teachers1person. Under the leadership of the District Party Committee and the District Government, in February 2006, the school was designated as a third-class standard school for ordinary middle schools in Fujian Province and entered the ranks of provincial key middle schools. Now it is a provincial-level standard school. On June 25th, 2006, while celebrating its 50th anniversary, the school officially became "Jimei Branch of Xiamen No.1 Middle School".
