Guangxi Vocational and Technical College is located in the scenic Yangming Industrial Zone in Nanning, Guangxi. Its predecessor was Guangxi University of Labor, which was founded in 1965. In order to meet the needs of local economic and social development, it was restructured into tropical crops branch of Guangxi Family College, Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Workers College and Guangxi Vocational College of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce. 1998 was approved by the Ministry of Education and became the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Guangxi.
The college covers an area of 1 130 mu, with a building area of 270,000 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 4 1.27 million yuan, and there are 1.433 teaching computers. The library has 6 10000 books. At present, there are 1 1 teaching departments, including agricultural technology engineering department, food technology department, animal technology department, department of mechanical engineering electronics department, computer technology department, world technology design department, economy and trade department, culture and communication department, social science department, basic department and continuing education college, with 49 majors. The college enrolls students from 20 provinces and regions in China, and now has 8,500 full-time students, 5,048 amateur correspondence college students, and all kinds of short-term vocational training students 1200. At present, there are 3 18 full-time teachers, including senior title 1 18, intermediate title 165438, experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council 1 person, and 3 "national advanced teachers". The college also hired 106 experts from all walks of life as part-time teachers.
Over the past 40 years, the College has actively integrated into the society, cultivated talents close to the industry, adhered to the road of open Industry-University-Research cooperation in running schools, made outstanding contributions to exploring the talent training mode of transfer education with Guangxi characteristics, and made the College develop into a higher vocational college with the characteristics of agriculture and the coordinated development of higher vocational majors such as finance, electronic information, biochemistry, manufacturing, food, art design and media, and won wide acclaim from the society. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates in our college has remained above 95%. Our college has successively won the honorary titles of "National Key Construction Demonstration Vocational and Technical College", "National Advanced Unit of Vocational Education", "National computer applications and software Technical Professional Skilled Talents Training Base", "National Advanced Collective of University Logistics Work" and "National Advanced Collective of Electronic Registration Management of Higher Education Diploma", and won the title of "Excellent College" in the talent training level evaluation of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education in 2005.
