As a provincial library, Ningxia Library has a collection of1300,000 volumes. Among them, the Chinese general book; 59 124 volumes of foreign language books and newspapers; 137293 volumes of thread-bound books of ancient books; Microfilm; CD. In addition, there are more comprehensive Ningxia local documents, Hui Islamic documents, 70,060 Xixia historical documents and about 7,000 national exclusive collections of Xishiku Church. The new library of Ningxia has more than 1500 reading seats, and has a designed collection of more than 3 million books. It has a large open reading room, reading room for the elderly and children, high-grade electronic reading room, personal video appreciation area, music bar, group video room, lecture hall, bookstore, reader's dining room, leisure teahouse and barrier-free browsing area, which can provide 3 million books and browsing area. There are general reading rooms, expert research reference reading rooms, reading rooms for the elderly and teenagers, multi-functional lecture halls, multimedia audio-visual areas, and leisure areas such as readers' restaurants, coffee cafes and small cinemas, which embodies the humanized design concept.

The new library in Ningxia implements the national library lending management plan, and readers can borrow books for free with magnetic cards. With the construction of digital libraries in cities and counties in the whole region, Ningxia Library will eventually realize digital connectivity and share resources with libraries in the whole region. In the future, digital docking will be realized between the national library and provincial libraries. It is reported that Ningxia Library has a total construction area of 32,360 square meters,10.5 million reading seats and receives 360,000 readers annually.
