His works won more than 30 awards, among which "Interesting Animals" won the third prize of "The First Excellent Works for Children in China"; Fourteen-year-old, Blue Harbor won the "Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award"; Time Carving Knife won the Bingxin Children's Book Award. Song of Hope and other works won the first prize of Liaoning 12356 Children's Literature Award. Because of his outstanding creative achievements, he was awarded second-class merit by Dalian.
Teng's children's poems have great influence throughout the country. Children's Literature Research, an authoritative theoretical journal of children's literature in China, has published comments on his children's poems three times, and more than a dozen newspapers and periodicals, such as Journal of Zhejiang Normal University, Press and Publication Weekly and Contemporary Children's Literature Review, have also published comments on his children's poems. His name has been included in more than a dozen dictionaries such as Chronicle of World Children's Literature and Dictionary of Children's Literature. The book History of Children's Literature in Northeast China affirmed his position in the history of children's literature in Northeast China. His creative deeds were introduced by Dalian Daily, Dalian Evening News, Dalian TV Station, Dalian Radio Station, Liaoning TV Station and other media for more than a dozen times.
