From 65438 to 0962, the library of the University of Science and Technology of China has more than 300,000 books.

1969 to 70, libraries and schools moved from Beijing to Hefei, Anhui. In the process of moving to school, instruments, equipment and books and materials were seriously lost. China University of Science and Technology started its business for the second time, and the library began to develop.

During the period of 1978, the variety and quantity of library collections have been greatly developed, and relatively complete literature information resources of key disciplines have been gradually established.

1997, the West District Library was completed and put into use, becoming the main library of China University of Science and Technology. 1999 12. The former Hefei Institute of Economics and Technology was merged into China University of Science and Technology, and the South Branch of the Library was also established.

In the 1990s, while continuing to increase the printed collections, the library vigorously developed the construction of electronic resources, and gradually established a comprehensive collection system of various types and carriers, including natural science and engineering science documents, humanities and social sciences and management science documents, including Chinese and foreign books, bound volumes of periodicals and newspapers, audio-visual products and computer documents. At the same time, the automation and networking construction of the library has also made important progress, and gradually established a more advanced and perfect information infrastructure.

In 2000, Huiwen management system was introduced to realize the computerization and networking of library business management, and provide readers with OPAC query of all Chinese and foreign books and periodicals; Web server, Huiwen server and several database mirror servers have also been established, and electronic periodical navigation system, multimedia teaching on demand system and CD-ROM system attached with books have been developed by ourselves.

In 2004, China Academy of Sciences formally established the "Sci-tech Novelty Consulting Center of China University of Science and Technology, China Academy of Sciences" in the library to provide sci-tech novelty retrieval services for teaching and research, foreign enterprises and institutions on campus.

In 2006, the Library of the University of Science and Technology of China became a characteristic branch of the National Science Library, and achieved a seamless connection with the National Science Map in terms of document resources construction, digital construction and document information service.
