In April, I saw Li Xiaoer's book reviews and logs. So far, her book reviews show that there are about 300 articles, and she has written many hot drafts. When I was browsing her diary yesterday, I found that she was not so good at first. She began to concentrate on writing book reviews from 12. In her own words, she spent about two and a half years writing book reviews of nearly 300 books. Then, she was invited by many traditional magazine media to write book reviews.
By her own admission, she didn't really expect to make a living by writing book reviews before, because it was basically difficult to see anyone writing book reviews. But when she kept writing for nearly three years, the result was very good. At present, she has become a freelance writer. While writing book reviews, she has basically defined her interests and improved her writing ability. These accumulated experiences in writing book reviews have accumulated her strength.
At the beginning, she wanted to insist on writing book reviews, so she wouldn't have such a result now. She simply thinks that she is no longer young and needs to improve her ability, so she can't muddle along like this.
Writing has always been her favorite thing, so she persisted. The result is much better than she expected at first.
There are many things in this world that we can't achieve with our efforts. But there are more things in this world, and as long as we persist in our efforts, it will be effective. Sticking to one day is not persistence, and sticking to one month is not even persistence. It takes three years, five years, ten years or even longer to persist.
With your unremitting efforts and step by step in the direction you want to go, you may not be able to reach the place you originally wanted to go because of the influence of the outside world, but the place you finally arrived at must be much better than the place where you stopped without persisting.
Warfalcon has always been my spiritual idol. He insisted on reading a book and writing book reviews every day for more than two years. His efforts finally succeeded him. But because I didn't know what he was like at first, there was no comparison, and there was still no score in my heart. Plus reading a book and writing a book review every day, I feel that I can't do it after trying, and I am very disappointed and depressed.
However, Li Xiao left those logs and book reviews on Douban. Looking through her original words, I will find that those strokes are actually very immature, and those writing styles are not as leisurely as she is now.
Time will tell. The good and the bad will become clearer and clearer over time and become the original appearance.
Because she insisted on writing book reviews and reading books, she wrote two or three book reviews every week on average, and her persistence was rewarded. Seeing this, I feel more confident because I can write two or three book reviews every week. This goal is not far away, and my ability can be achieved.
So I'm quite happy, which doesn't conflict with my original plan of writing 10 to 15 book reviews a month. I can try to finish it.
In a sense, Li Xiaoer is a beacon in my book review life. Her experience tells me what will happen if I persist in this way. This gives me a sense of direction and more motivation, haha, I can't help it. I am such a layman. Although I started writing book reviews only to improve my writing ability, I certainly want to get better results.
Don't say superfluous words. Do it well if you want, and don't let yourself be idle. It's better than nothing.
