Special literature is a kind of scientific and technological literature with special publishing and interview methods. Generally speaking, special documents include conference documents, scientific reports, patent documents, dissertations, standard documents, scientific archives and government publications. Thematic literature is a very important information source, with distinctive features, extensive content, huge quantity and high reference value, which plays an important role in medical literature retrieval.

Based on the teaching practice of literature retrieval course, the author discusses the necessity, feasibility and improvement measures of strengthening the content of special literature retrieval in literature retrieval course.

The rapid development of modern information technology provides strong technical support for various business work of the library, and also brings new challenges and new development opportunities to the acquisition and cataloging work.

As the functional department of collecting, sorting and processing literature information, the library's editing and cataloging department should strive to realize automation and networking in any work and give full play to the advantages of modern technology.
