The library is the heart of the university and one of the three pillars of the university. It is an important task for every university to develop and utilize library resources and improve the utilization rate of college students, and it is also the core value of the library. Reader survey is an important means of communication between libraries and readers. It is an important basis for the library to determine its development goals, adapt to the changes of readers' needs in time, and improve its work in a targeted manner by conducting a serious and in-depth investigation of readers, understanding their literature needs, and mastering the characteristics and current situation of readers' use of the library. For the future development of the library, the students in our college insist on "strengthening the academic ties between the library and various departments and giving play to the role of a link, so as to better serve the students;" Students feel the gap in academic exchanges, and then know Siqi to improve themselves; Cultivating the good quality of pragmatism and friendship in service practice ",this paper investigates the present situation and service of our library, students' use and evaluation of the library, the future development of the library and other related issues. The purpose of the investigation is to find the best solution and feasible scheme for developing the existing resources of our library, optimizing the service structure of the library and improving the efficiency of students using the library. The students of our college made a comprehensive investigation for the development of the library.

Since the library of our school entered the network and digital construction, it has continuously increased the investment in the construction of literature resources, and the number of paper books has increased every year. From zero to today, electronic resources have a database of nearly a thousand important journals and master's and doctoral dissertations. Do readers feel these services because of the continuous efforts of our school? Did they get anything? What is the gap between our school's homework and the needs of readers?

With these questions, our library conducted a questionnaire survey on February 201kloc-0/65438. This reader's questionnaire adopts the sampling questionnaire survey method, which can realize the standardization and objectification of the questionnaire and truly reflect the personal thoughts and situations of the respondents. It is the most commonly used survey method in social survey, which saves cost and takes less time. This time, 50 questionnaires were distributed and 50 valid questionnaires were recovered. The respondents are mainly college students in our school. Among the respondents, 58% were freshmen, 24% were sophomores and 0/8% were juniors. The response rate of students' questionnaire is 100%, which mainly involves four aspects: ① understanding the basic situation of the library; ② Construction of digital resources; (3) borrowing books and periodicals; ④ Hope and improvement.

First, the questionnaire survey results analysis

The questions in this questionnaire survey are set in detail, which allows readers to give clear answers to specific survey contents. On the other hand, through this questionnaire survey, readers can publicize the service work of the library and have a deeper understanding of the library. Readers can answer questions seriously, which shows their understanding and support for library work. In order to help students become more familiar with the library, understand students' demand for books and literature resources, improve the utilization rate of library literature resources, and guide students to read more books with the library as partners, thus forming a reading craze. Most of the students in the steam and electricity class of our college carried out a special investigation report on students' understanding of the campus library in June and February, 5438.

The subjects of the survey include students of all grades. Through the survey of students' satisfaction with the service attitude of library staff, the library environment, modern equipment and the richness of book resources, we can find that many students are satisfied with the present situation of the new library, and put forward their own valuable opinions and suggestions to further meet students' learning needs. According to this survey, freshmen are the main group of libraries, accounting for more than half of the total survey population. Sophomores account for more than 10%, juniors account for more than 20%, and there are a few teachers.

About the opening hours of the library, half of the students are satisfied with it, and half think that there is not enough time. Among them, 70% freshmen and sophomores think that the opening hours of the library are too short.

Only 5% students know the layout of the library and the placement of books, 65% students think they don't, and 20% students think it is too difficult to find books in the library. In the distribution of grades, there is no obvious boundary. Among the students of all grades, most students don't know much about the layout of the library and the placement of books.

About the room temperature setting of the library, 20% students think it is comfortable, nearly 40% students think it is acceptable and 40% students think it is too cold in winter.

Nearly 80% of the students are satisfied with the service of the library staff.

1. Library attendance survey: 36% students come frequently, 34% students come occasionally, and 30% students seldom come. The results show that the number of students coming to the library in our college is small and not active enough. The work done by our college in the library has not been fully recognized by readers. Schools should strengthen the investment and construction of libraries and improve the conditions of libraries. The library also constantly enriches the connotation and pays attention to the service attitude and quality, so that employees can firmly establish the working purpose of "readers first, service first" and create a clean, quiet and elegant reading environment. In the future, we will continue to work hard in all aspects of the library so that most teachers and students can often think of the library after work and study. . Our school should also strengthen the publicity of the library to make students pay more attention to the library.

2. The purpose of going to the library: borrowing books and periodicals accounts for 52%, self-study accounts for 26%, surfing the Internet accounts for 20%, and sleeping accounts for 2%. Our students have a strong sense of reading.

3. Satisfaction with the library: 30

% of the respondents were satisfied, 42% were satisfied, 23% were dissatisfied and 5% didn't care. The total of the four items is 100%. Libraries also need to continuously provide high-quality services, provide more and better services, integrate resources, strive to provide a better environment, and further enhance the comprehensive service capabilities of libraries.

Increase the collection of books in the library and update books. With the acceleration of knowledge updating and the increase of readers, readers hope that the library will increase the collection of books, speed up the updating of books, increase some popular books, magazines, entertainment and knowledge expansion, and meet the needs of readers to the greatest extent.

5. What other services do you need your university library to provide and improve: * Extending the opening and closing time of holidays accounts for 32%, increasing the number of books borrowed and extending the ending time accounts for 26%, giving more lectures accounts for 13%, improving the environment accounts for 23%, and strengthening the guidance for freshmen accounts for 6%. The survey results show that it is necessary to extend the opening hours so that students can have more time to read books. Strengthen management, improve the reading environment of the library, improve the reading quality of readers, enhance the taste of the library and attract more readers. Extend the borrowing time and give readers enough time to read and borrow books.

6. When investigating the literature resources you often use: books account for 25%, newspapers and periodicals account for 65,438+06%, electronic resources account for 39%, dissertations account for 3%, and reference books account for 65,438+07%, which shows that books and electronic resources in our library are well received by students and fully utilized by them, so our school should pay more attention to these two kinds of resources and strengthen management and update.

Second, an overview of the library survey report.

For the collection of behaviors that students think can't be tolerated in the library, let the students ask some questions about the library themselves: 1, books damaged 2, overdue return 3, loud phone call 4, answering mobile phone 5, walking loudly in high heels 6, people often come in and out of the library and talk loudly.

Among the intolerable behaviors put forward by students, the most important thing is that people often go in and out of the library and make loud noises, walking loudly in high heels and making loud noises. 70% of the students have said these two questions.

In addition, some students also put forward the following phenomena and behaviors:

Many students not only completed the questionnaire carefully, but also wrote some suggestions for the library on the questionnaire. Through induction and collation, the students' suggestions can be roughly divided into the following aspects:

Opinions collected about students:

1) books: I hope the library can add some new books, some of which are too old; Update new books in time, especially about natural science, which is developing rapidly and has many new theories, so it is necessary to update them in time; Supplement some newly published books. Libraries should buy more books. The teacher introduced many books to us, but the library has no such book resources!

2) Closing time: I hope the library can extend its opening time to 1 1.

3) Computers: Some computers are broken and can't be used at all. There are too few computers to provide for students who need computers. It is suggested that the library check and maintain regularly to ensure the normal use of computers; Increase the number of computers, increase the guidance and education on how to use the functions and services on the library homepage, and there are too many restrictions on browsing computer webpages in the library.

4) Lighting: Some lights in the museum are too dark and some are too bright; Whether to turn on the light depends mainly on brightness rather than time. Sometimes it's dark in the cloudy morning but the lights don't turn on. It is suggested that the staff can help us turn on the light in this case. Save electricity; I hope to increase the indoor brightness, which is not enough at present; Inside the library, there is insufficient light in some places.

5) Library temperature: In winter, the library is too cold. I hope the air conditioner can provide heating. Turn down the air conditioner in summer.

6) Students in the museum: 1 Talking loudly and other behaviors are personal quality problems, which are difficult to improve, or you can post some warm tips; High heels and slippers are not allowed in! Damaging books is the drawback of returning e-books. The newspaper was taken away at will, and even someone tore it off and took it away. I hope the library can persuade everyone. I suggest you put the newspaper back and try to read it on the sofa. 5. Regularly clean the desk and chair textbooks and transfer them to the fixed claim area. 6. Third, the investigation and analysis summary

In this survey, the questionnaire design is relatively simple and the time is limited. There are inevitably some shortcomings in the investigation, such as: stratified sampling of students, no scientific planning, and stratified statistics only based on the collected questionnaires; The proportion of students' dissatisfaction with the library is relatively low, and there is no room for investigating the deep-seated reasons for students' dissatisfaction in the questionnaire. Nevertheless, our questionnaire still has some value. The following is our in-depth analysis based on the collected questionnaires and our observations:

First, the main purpose of students going to the library is to borrow books and periodicals and study by themselves. Borrowing books and periodicals is reading and learning. According to our observation and subjective feelings, students go to the library mainly to borrow books and periodicals, looking for better readers and a quiet reading environment. The library is an ideal place for students to find books. There are many kinds of books in the library, and the environment is better than other places.

Second, the way of university is to be moral, close to the people and stop at perfection. Although this sentence can't be used to comprehensively guide the construction of today's universities, it shows that "universities" should attach importance to "virtue" and "goodness", which still has enlightenment on today's university education.

At the same time, the current era is not very satisfied with the overall quality of college students, which has a lot to do with the utilitarian purpose of college students' study.

The library not only attracts students to study academically and improves their professional knowledge and academic background, but also plays a positive role in academic study: fundamentally shaping a person's personality, improving moral cultivation and opening up the realm of life.

Thirdly, to increase students' participation, students' needs can be conveyed to the library through appropriate channels, and they can also participate in the management of the library, so that the work of the library is not only the library's own business, but also the business of normal college students. This is not only beneficial to the development of normal university library, but also to the development of normal university students and the continuous improvement of normal university learning quality.
