Will all cip data be published?
The compilation of CIP data is based on the book information declared by the publishing house, so the accuracy and completeness of CIP data declared by the publishing house will directly affect the quality and work efficiency of CIP data. In order to improve the efficiency of cataloging in publication and ensure the accuracy and authority of cataloging data in publication, the publishing house must fill in the following items when reporting cataloging data in publication:

1) title.

2) Author and writing style.

3) Press and publication time.

4) Executive summary.

5)ISBN number, format and pricing.

In addition, according to the actual situation of this book, the following items must be reported:

1) The title of the book contains subtitle and explanatory text; Titles in other languages are bundled together.

2) Name of series and editing of series.

3) Precautions.

4) Translate the original title, author (including nationality) and translator.

5) When reprinting books, you must fill in the time of 1 edition 1 times and the reprinting time.

6) Other related items reflecting the information and characteristics of books (see the items listed in CIP data worksheet and special application software).

How to declare CIP data for reprinted books?

Many publishers still have some questions about how to declare CIP data for reprinted books. Here, explain again:

1) When reprinting books without CIP data, CIP data must be declared. The printing time and reprinting time of the book 1 edition must be filled in at the same time.

2) When reprinting books with declared CIP data, the original CIP data can be used, and there is no need to declare again; However, when using CIP data, the reprint time should be enclosed in brackets after the original publication time, such as: 2004 438+00 (2005 438+00 reprint).

3) When a book with declared CIP data is reprinted many times, the latest reprint time is enclosed in brackets after the original publication time. For example, when a book declared CIP data in the first edition 10 in 2003 and was reprinted twice in 2004 10 and 2005 10, it will be reprinted in June 2005. What needs to be emphasized here is that no matter how many times a book is reprinted, the nuclear font size of CIP data cannot be changed, including the implied year number.

Definition of international standard book number

[Edit this paragraph]

ISBN means "International Standard Book Number", which is abbreviated as International Standard Book Number in English. Use of international standard book number

[Edit this paragraph]

The institution responsible for ISBN is located in the National Prussian Cultural Heritage Library (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin-Preu? Ischer Kulturbesitz) is an international standard book number institution. One of the main tasks of this institution is to assign regional numbers to lower-level regional institutions. Generally, regional institutions are located in the National Library, but not in some big countries and regions. For example, the regional organization in Britain is Whitaker. Before ISBN came out, it was the national ISBN center in Britain, which can be said to be the pioneer of ISBN. The regional center of the United States is R.R. Bowker; China's regional institutions are located in the Press and Publication Administration. The main work of the regional organization is to accept the application of the publishing house and grant the second paragraph number, that is, the code of the publishing house. The third number and check code are decided by the publishing house.
