Book 18, Gold Award Works of newbury Children's Literature Award.

The Newbery Award was founded in 1922 by the American Library Society for Children, a branch of the American Library Society, in memory of Newbery. Winners must have made outstanding contributions to American children's literature and are limited to American citizens and permanent residents. From 1922, they are awarded to the most outstanding American children's book authors in the previous year. It is the same as the "International Andersen Award". The "newbury Prize" is awarded once a year to English children's literature published last year; A gold medal and one or more silver prizes are awarded every year.

The newbury Prize has a long history and has a great influence on children's literature in the United States and even the world. All the newbury Prize-winning books are listed as must-read books for teenagers. Its theme covers everything. The content is not only cleverly designed for children's psychological aspects such as fear, sadness, fantasy, humor and adventure, but also includes care for human beings and all things in nature around the world.

Special note: Some works that have won the Newbury Prize have been published in China, but they are often labeled as "Newbury Children's Literature Award". Strictly speaking, the winning works only refer to the works that have won the gold medal. However, it must be pointed out that the works that won the gold medal are not necessarily better than those that won the silver medal or did not win the prize. The winning works mainly represent the opinions of the judges at that time. After the baptism of time, the influence of some silver award works has far surpassed that of gold award works, such as the cricket in Times Square and many works in the Cabin series. Although they only won the silver award, they have become immortal classics today.
