In 2000, the two schools were divided into junior high school and senior high school. In 2003, Yangzhong No.2 Middle School was renamed Yangzhong No.2 Middle School. In 2005, Yangzhong No.2 Middle School was rated as a three-star high school in Jiangsu Province. In 2003, Yangzhong No.1 Middle School became independent from No.1 Middle School and was renamed Yangzhong Foreign Language School in 2005. At present, Sanmao Sub-district Office is formed by the merger of Sanmao Town, Yufeng Town, March Town and Xinglong Town. All the original towns passed the acceptance of 1998 Jiangsu Education Modernization. At present, there are 4 provincial model kindergartens, 4 provincial experimental primary schools (there are 3 complete primary schools or schools at village level), 3 provincial model junior high schools 1, 3 ordinary middle schools, foreign language schools 1, 3 provincial three-star high schools 1, and 2 adult education centers.
