What is your biggest gain from reading history books?
When I was in college, there was a big library in the school. Almost half of Shidoushan's college life was spent in the library. First I read novels and magazines, then I read history and travel notes, and then I read biography, philosophy and law. I read almost everything I see, and I don't know how many books I have read. Of course, some books are intensive reading, such as Lu Yao's Ordinary World, which was almost memorized at that time; Some just dabble and browse. The more books you read, the greater your change. First of all, you have broadened your horizons. For example, after reading western literature, I have a deeper understanding of western history and values. Secondly, I improved my writing ability. From liking to imitating, to creating by myself, I actually wrote nearly a million words in the later days. Finally, I learned to think, to worry about my present situation, to think about my future and to know more about life and society. After a long time, I naturally formed my own "three views".
