Tianjin Vocational College was founded in 1978. Its predecessor was Nankai University Branch No.2 and Tianjin University Chemical Branch, engaged in undergraduate education. 1982 was transformed into Tianjin vocational college at the end of 1982, which was the earliest institution in Tianjin to hold higher vocational and technical education, and also one of the institutions that China 17 obtained loans from the World Bank.
