Beijing language and culture university, referred to as Beiyu for short, is an institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education of China, which was founded in 1962. /kloc-0 was named Beijing Language and Culture Institute in June, 1964, and/kloc-0 was renamed Beijing Language and Culture University in June, 1996. In 2002, its name was simplified to Beijing Language and Culture University.
