China University of Science and Technology is a national key science and engineering university directly under the China Academy of Sciences, which focuses on cutting-edge science and high technology and features management and humanities. It is also the first batch of key construction institutions of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project". It has been selected in the Everest Plan,11Plan, "201Plan", "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", "Knowledge Innovation Project of Chinese Academy of Sciences" and "National Overseas High-level Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" successively.

The University of Science and Technology of China was founded in Beijing in 1958, and moved to Hefei, Anhui Province in 1970, with Guo Moruo as the first president. Known as the "cradle of scientific and technological talents" in China, this school enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad, and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev once praised it as a "world-class university".

By the end of 20 14, there were more than 5,500 students in the school, including 900 doctoral students, 6,200 master students and 7,400 undergraduates.
