For a few books, the call number only consists of the above two basic parts.

But for most books, in order to make the call number specific, the following symbols must be attached according to the specific situation:

(2) Version number, which is added to the next line of the author number or title to distinguish different versions of the same work.

(3) Add the book number or department number to the next line of the four numbers, such as the author number, to distinguish different volumes of multi-volume books and different volumes of the same book. In addition, if necessary, the language number (used to distinguish foreign documents), document type identifier (such as reference book identifier) or special collection number should be appended after the classification number. The order of call numbers adopted by most libraries in China is classification/author and classification/book cataloging.
