Datong Museum was designed by Mr. Cui Kai, a famous architect in China. The whole architectural design tries to give a typical description of the rising dynamics of the special-shaped building space, integrate the history and culture of Datong into it, and boldly absorb the cultural elements of Datong's natural landforms-the spatial evolution of Datong Volcano Group, Longbi Culture and Yungang Grottoes. Architectural modeling is like a dragon about to take off, which indicates that the integration of Longcheng and profound culture will become a winning situation. Construction of the new building started on 20 10, with a total investment of 490 million yuan, covering an area of 5 1556 square meters and a construction area of 3,2821square meter, which is divided into one basement and three floors above ground. The exhibition area is nearly 1000 square meter, which is divided into series exhibition halls, four special exhibition halls and a temporary exhibition hall, and more than 70,000 pieces of cultural relics are exhibited. At the same time, cultural relics protection, exhibition and collection, security and defense, and scientific research have all made a qualitative leap. According to Wang Limin, the curator, in the exhibition design of the new museum, from the perspective of the special contribution of ancient Datong to Chinese civilization, they highlighted the unique role of Imperial Capital and Frontier Defense in the cultural exchange, trade accommodation, military exchange and ethnic integration between ancient Han and northern minorities, and revealed the precious qualities of Datong's openness, tolerance, pursuit of harmony and tenacious survival since ancient times, which are also needed by Datong today. ,
