The American National Book Award was jointly established by the American Publishers Association, the American Booksellers Association and the Book Manufacturers Association on1March 2006 1950, and only awarded to American citizens. The National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction are considered as the two most important literary awards in the United States. They are the most important awards in American literature and a grand ceremony in publishing.
