The Cultural Center of Tianjin Library (Figure 1 1) is the main area of Tianjin Library, which is jointly designed by Yamamoto Institute of Scientific Research and Design and the Architectural Branch of Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute. The total construction area is 57,000 square meters, which is divided into five floors above ground and one underground.

Its architectural design is a "paradise of wisdom", emphasizing that the library is a building bearing wisdom, which realizes the reading enjoyment of the elderly and teenagers in function and makes it a paradise for citizens to love knowledge. There are seven lighting atrium with reading function in the building, which means that the library is a paradise of knowledge. The building is simple, atmospheric and modern, and has a unique design for technical problems such as disaster prevention, energy saving and book streamline.

On the first floor, there is a corridor-style enjoyment space running through the north and south, and two large open entrances are connected with the lakeside square in the north and the urban space in the south, so people can freely enter the library. Tianjin Library Cultural Center is located in the public reading service center, providing popular literature services for the general public. The cultural center area is designed with 6 million books, open-shelf reading 1 10,000 books, 3,500 periodicals and 500 newspapers. The cultural center library covers all the functions of provincial libraries, including the borrowing of books, periodicals and newspapers, the appreciation of audio-visual materials, the processing and utilization of digital resources, the consulting of reference books and historical documents, the display of rare books, the preservation, sorting and restoration of ancient books, the service for visually impaired readers and children readers, and the consultation of government information.
