What are the artistic features of Ray's calligraphy?
Zhang Ruitu (? ~ 1644), a long-term worker, was born in Jinjiang, Fujian. In thirty-five years of Wanli, he was a scholar, and palace examination was the third. He was awarded editor-in-chief, and later joined the cabinet as a minister of rites. He is good at calligraphy. He wrote many inscriptions for the ancestral temple in Wei Zhongxian at that time, which was despised by people. Later, he was demoted to the people because of the Wei Zhongxian case. Zhang Ruitu's calligraphy works, such as the running script "Blessed Family" and the cursive script "Five-character Poems", are all strange, and the source is not obvious. His brushwork is plain, his book style is dense, and he lacks the meaning of roundness. After careful scrutiny, we can see that his calligraphy is still the king and the clock, but it has changed a lot. He combined Zhong You's chubby Gu Zhuo with Wang Xizhi's charming variety, changed the font, and hid his charm as an "ugly monster", ignoring his skill and simplicity, giving people an impression of deja vu. For example, the poem "A Happy Life Without Borders" gives people the impression that it is sloppy and the words seem uncertain. However, it is extremely vigorous to hold the text of the word firmly with a pen. Another example is the "five-character poem", in which the structure of each word is tight and the pen is thick. At first glance, it is difficult to distinguish fonts, but the context of their light and heavy strokes can still be seen in the overlap. Zhang is as famous as Dong, Mi and Xing in calligraphy. Early cursive writing was extremely peaceful. We can see his writing style in his early years from his representative work "Post-Red Cliff Fu". He wrote cursive script based on the brushwork of the North Monument, and the book is full of mountains and rivers.
