2. Introduction of Nantong Library

(1) Its predecessor was Nantong Library, which was founded by modern industrialist and educator Zhang Jianyu in 19 12. It was one of the early public libraries in China. Known for its rich collection of local documents and ancient books, it is the national information center of Zhang Jian's research literature, and has been rated as "national key protection unit of ancient books" and "national first-class library". The new library covers an area of 28,000 square meters, with 1.700 reading seats and 654,380+0,800 books (pieces).

(2) The new museum is located in the south of century avenue, a new urban area, at the northern end of the plot on the east side of the green axis of the administrative center, which is very eye-catching. Although the new building has moved to the new town, the traffic is quite convenient, and buses such as 15, 20, 38, 48, 68, 70, 77, 78 and 6 19 can all reach it.

(3) The opening hours of the new museum are slightly different from those of the old one. Specifically, the opening hours of the book lending area, newspaper reading room and multimedia reading room are 9:00- 19:00 from Monday to Sunday. Housekeeping will be arranged on Wednesday morning, and the opening hours will be 13: 00- 19: 00. The opening hours of reference reading room, reading room for blind people and Braille audiobooks, reading room for ancient books and reading room for academic journals are from 9:00- 17:30 from Monday to Friday.
