Is it disrespectful to buy a book when it is out of print?
I don't think it counts. The problem is that the books are out of print, and I have no place to buy them because I have to respect the author. If I can find this book, I would rather make one myself than buy one, not to save that money, mainly because there are many books that have no collection value at all, let alone one. It's good to see it, but it takes up space if you keep it.

Besides, I mainly read books. I usually read some good books or buy books online. Generally speaking, I'm not interested in the author. No matter how good the author is, not every book is written so well, which only shows that his literary talent is better. As for what he is like, whatever he is, there is no respect. Just like my attitude towards those stars, I just pay attention to their works and don't care too much about their personal behavior. Naturally, I am not crazy about idolization, so I will buy their posters to support their concerts and press conferences.

Also, technology and culture are making profits now. Many books are expensive, mainly because they cost more, so they are naturally more expensive to sell. For some people, the price is beyond their affordability, so many people prefer to buy pirated books. The reason why so many people make pirated books and photocopies shows that there is a market and they are profitable in doing these things. This is a common social phenomenon, isn't it?

If we want to rectify this phenomenon, we can't just start with individuals. The state should find ways to reduce the price of books. For example, it is good that some government-run libraries are free now. After all, books improve people's ideological level and are tools conducive to human progress. They shouldn't be exclusive to the rich, and they can't afford it without money.
