As a first-level discipline under computer science and technology, information security specialty contains much more knowledge than computers, including communication, mathematics, cryptography, management and so on. Therefore, the knowledge to be learned in information security includes not only computer knowledge such as advanced language, data structure, computer network, database principle and application, but also courses with discipline characteristics such as cryptography, assembly language and information security psychology. Let me give you an overview of some special courses.

I have to mention cryptography. Cryptography, as the foundation of information security specialty, plays an important role in professional courses. Although we have certainly heard the technical terms of key, plaintext, ciphertext, encryption and decryption, we are not necessarily familiar with many mathematical knowledge, modern algebra and linear algebra, which are all things that will be studied in detail in cryptography courses. In cryptography, you can learn symmetric cryptography and asymmetric cryptography, and you can know their working principles, which can help you set your own password more reasonably.

In addition to cryptography, there is another course that I am particularly interested in, that is, information security psychology, also called social engineering. Many people think that information security is dealing with networks and passwords, but they ignore the people behind them. Psychology of Information Security brings us into people's psychology and helps us to analyze what kind of passwords people are more likely to use and how to decipher the passwords they may use from other people's basic information. Therefore, the importance of information security psychology is self-evident.
