Reasons for the decrease of occupational statistics books
The per capita reading of paper books in China is generally low. The Chinese nation once attached great importance to reading and has always had a cultural tradition of farming and reading. At present, the per capita paper reading of China citizens is not optimistic. On April 20 18, the results of a nationwide reading survey organized and implemented by China Press and Publication Research Institute were released. In 20 17, the per capita reading of paper books in China was 4.66, which was slightly higher than 4.65 in 20 16. However, it should be noted that there is still a gap between the reading rate of China people and that of people from other countries. World Book Day 20 14 "Global Digital Reading Report" shows that in 20 1 1 year, the average reading volume of paper books in Korea is about 1 1, that in the United States is about 7, and that in Japan is about 8. One of the reasons for the gap is that there is still a gap between China's economic level and developed countries, citizens are unwilling to spend money or have no money to buy books, and the construction of public libraries is relatively backward; Secondly, under the examination-oriented education, reading has become a "bitter" task, and the interest and habit of reading since childhood have not been developed; Third, China people are very utilitarian and practical. Reading can't bring immediate economic benefits, so naturally they won't spend more time studying. College students are no exception. Many students spend their time and energy on entertainment and surfing the Internet. They have no habit of reading and naturally seldom borrow books from the library.

(2) The continuous emergence of e-books. With the rapid development of computer and information technology, e-books, as a new form of books, have also developed rapidly. Compared with paper books, e-books have many advantages for readers, such as searchable content, large-capacity online download at any time, low price and so on. For college students, when they encounter problems that need to be solved in their study and scientific research, paper books are no longer their only reliance, but more electronic resources are used, such as China HowNet and Superstar digital books, which are purchased by most university libraries. It can be said that the rise and widespread use of e-books has changed college students' reading methods and habits, and reduced their demand for paper books, which is one of the important reasons for the decline in the number of paper books borrowed in university libraries.

(3) There are some shortcomings in the paper book work in university libraries. In addition to external factors, the borrowing volume of paper books in university libraries is also gradually decreasing. From the inside of the library, there are also the following reasons: some university librarians are not strong in professional ability, do not know enough about the collection information, and some are not enthusiastic about their work. They think that work is to borrow and return books repeatedly, and can't provide quality services for readers; Second, the promotion of paper books in university libraries has a single form and channel, and the publicity is not strong enough, which leads readers to be at a loss about their collections; Third, the collection structure is unreasonable. For example, some books have lost their borrowing value because of their age, but the new books urgently needed by readers cannot be bought on the shelves immediately because of the shortage of funds for books, and so on.
