The library of Chongqing University of Science and Technology is located under the beautiful Gele Mountain, with a construction area of 42,000 square meters. The library adds more than 60,000 books, 4 tons of electronic resources and more than 2,000 Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals every year. It has digital resources such as VIP sci-tech periodicals, Wanfang sci-tech periodicals, Long Yuan humanities and social sciences periodicals, EBSCO foreign language periodicals, CNKI doctoral dissertations, scholars' books, superstar books, APABI e-books, times classic foreign language e-books, Wanfang data resource system, Wanfang petrochemical competitive intelligence system, Wanfang metallurgical industry competitive intelligence system, Addison online lecture hall, Netmusic international education video library and CD-ROM database attached with books, and has more than 4,000 reading seats. The literature collection mainly focuses on petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, materials, machinery, automation, computer, management, architecture and humanities, and comprehensively collects the professional literature resources of petroleum metallurgy to form a characteristic collection. By March of 20 15, there were 2.435 million books.

Books and periodicals are open to readers for more than 90 hours every week, and online resource services are open all day. The reference department provides information consultation, sci-tech novelty retrieval, retrieval guidance and other services.
