(1) Xinhua Bookstore, a state-owned book publishing enterprise in China. Distribution outlets are all over the country. This bookstore was established in Qingliangshan, Yan 'an on April 24th, 1937. It is the national official bookstore under Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and China Publishing Group, and it is also one of the publicity and sales offices of official publications. It has branches all over the country, and by the end of 2006, there were more than 14000 sales outlets. There are book shopping centers or book cities in provincial capitals. In Hong Kong, it operates under the name of "Xinhua Bookstore" in Wan Chai and "Zhuxin Book Company" in Macau.

(2) The inscription on the signboard of this branch was written by Mao Zedong of Hebei Province on February 1948. Today, the head office and distribution office are located in Xicheng District, Beijing.
