Chen Dongping devoted himself to the practice, research and promotion of Chinese education, reading and writing teaching and literature education in primary and secondary schools, to opening up reading and writing channels in primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, to reading promotion and "life writing", and put forward that "reading is the analysis of texts, and writing is the construction of texts", which created the writing theory and paradigm of "rational writing".

Guide students to develop reading habits, turn reading literacy into writing ability, turn "input" into "output", and guide students to publish more than 50 articles publicly, which further enhances and promotes students' interest in reading and writing, and truly promotes writing through reading. Instruct student Ma Zhiyue to win the Top Ten Literary Teenagers in the 9th Shenzhen University Campus.

The combination of practice and theory

Chen Dongping has been to Guangxi, Xinjiang, Hubei, Shandong, Zhejiang and other places, to schools, communities, radio stations, television stations, libraries, book cities and enterprises, to the Cadre College of Reform and Opening-up, Shenzhen City University and Shenzhen Senior High School, and to party and mass service centers, women and children activity centers and book bars in parks at all levels.

Students' families actively explain reading methods and strategies for primary and secondary school students, teachers, parents and the public, impart reading and writing knowledge, recommend excellent reading books, stimulate students' reading interest and develop reading habits, which are widely welcomed and praised.

Help the whole people read.

As a people's teacher and a native of party member, Chen Dongping pays attention to reading promotion and advocates reading for all while doing a good job in school management and teaching. He set an example by insisting on reading and writing all the year round, encouraging students, teachers, parents and the public to devote themselves to reading, so as to promote and deepen the reading activities of the whole people.

Due to his solid work and outstanding achievements in reading and writing promotion and literature education, in June 2020, Chen Dongping was awarded the "Lighting Person" campus reading promoter in Guangdong Province by the Propaganda Department of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Civilization Office and the Provincial Education Department. In February 2022, Chen Dongping was elected as the representative of the Eighth Congress of Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
